Is Hydroponic produce Organic?
According to the USDA, “Produce can be called organic if it’s certified to have grown on soil that had no prohibited substances applied for three years prior to harvest.”
Farms seeking organic certification must go through an intensive and dedicated process to transition their soil away from synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
A certified organic product does not necessarily mean it is pesticide-free. It is still possible for organic farms to use pesticides, but they must be organic pesticides.
At Hygrow, we grow produce without pesticides, chemicals and fertilizers making it much safer to eat than traditonally grown produce.
As we don’t grow indoors, the enviornment is fully climate controlled and all safety precautions are taken to avoid any contamination to the produce.
